Had the trip planned for 2020, buy yall know what 2020 was like! Still fighting with the travel agent to refund our flights, but that's another story.
Ade to to joburg last sunday night. We stayed at a guest house as there is a curfew from 8p-4a, so no driving g at night. We get up at 5am, drive to the border. Our group is split up as we are hunting different animals. 3 go one way for cape buffalo and sable. We go the other direction to a different ranch. Before we get to the ranch, we must go thru the border stop. When we arrive at the stop, they wont accept our covid test results. So, we get out of line to wait in another line, for the rapid covid test. Mind you, we already had a pcr test, because they wouldnt accept the rapid test. But they will do a rapid test, for $100 each. Fine, whatever. Not gon a bore you with more details, but we were at the border for 6 hours, finally make it into bots!
At the other ranch, sable and cape hit the dirt! They meet us in bots the next day.
One of the guys shoots a really big lioness! I was lucky enough to shoot a nice impala and one of the sons in our group dropped a big blue wildebeest.
It's been kinda slow. It's cold here. COLD! -9°C one morning. THATS 16° F! Been in the low 30s the past couple mornings, but its warming up.
Not the best write up, but my hands are cold!
Hope to post more pix soon!
