Don't know your setup but we burnt up a pump. Slow leak in our plumbing, pump ran untill our tank went dry.

Submersable pump?? If not do you have a foot valve on the bottom?

Could be a possible reset button on pump control box, ants in control box or capacitor.

Beats me to all questions..I'm 100% ignorant to this. Called a well guy hopefully come out Tuesday and we'll use pool water to flush toilets and bottles water for rest

Remove pressure switch cover. Take a stick and make the points come in contact and see if you have power at the pressure switch. The pump should kick on when makes contact. If not maybe your capacitor is bad. Cut off power and remove capacitor cover and look for burnt wires. Google is your friend.

It was an expensive fix, new pump, 500' of electrical line, some replacement pipes.

No clue. Somewhere between 25-40yrs old. I say that as the pump that is replaced hasn't been made in 25 years.

I'm probably getting close to going through the same thing. Mine is 26 yrs. old.
I've used mine for my home and all else almost every day the whole time.
