    Gartner snake

Ok, got one hanging around the house.

Always thought they ate bugs and such, but what I read it more like frogs and fish.

Do I need to relocate this critter to the creek?

Was hoping his diet was more like roaches and crickets.

They'll eat small fish, toads, salamanders, mice. Pretty much anything they can catch. If it's little it'll eat baby mice, toads, warms and such.

Do you have any frogs or fish you're worried about it eating?

Just say “good morning” and step over that little guy, he’s helping you out.

If he is hanging out at your house, there is a food source. Otherwise he would go to the creek himself.

I don’t worry about them. Kind in my earthworm category of concern.

I’ve had them come into the house before, they’re welcome around my place.

                      That's a ribbon snake.

We have garter snakes around our house as well. They eat anything they can swallow. I’ve seen them eating water bugs, June bugs, a few years ago I saw one rating a tarantula.
