I know there are lots of people who are in the “rifles are just a tool” camp. I get it and have no problem with that but to me, those beautiful wood stock, passed down rifles from Dad and Grandpa are what makes me happy. All my grandparents and my Dad are gone and the time sitting in a stand or blind looking down at the old 30-30 or .30-06 that was passed down to me just makes it worth it. Getting a deer, even a big fat doe is just icing on your the cake.

Last year was a bust on multiple species but time hunting is always better than sitting on the couch. Check out all the ducks!

A pic of my Grand Daughter with her cheerleading outfit on and a Santa hat. Her Dad decided to circle my place for a buck before heading onto town for the parade of lights she was in.

Nothing boring about that! Good hunting photos don't have to be LDP's.

Had a great season this year. My first pronghorn taken in north texas, first elk taken in Colorado, 8 point and doe taken in Missouri (just love the picture with my son and the doe), campfire pic was just a great hunt that I got to enjoy with my dad and couple of buddies out at Aransas (not a great hunt, but couldn’t beat the campfire) and then of course my archery public land nilgai.

My girl had a good season. Took out largest bow buck (second largest ever) on our Shiner place and then followed by taking the largest turkey we have taken.

Great pic. I started favoring these pics several years ago over the typical hero pic we all take.

My favorite picture of me and my bud during the 2019 duck season. Found out he had early cataracts in 2018 and vowed to hit it hard in 2019 while he still could. 25+ hunts and around 275 birds retrieved, I’d say it was a success. Limited out 19 times that year. I was glad it all lined up the way it did. This picture was taken during a 27 minute four man limit hunt.

Walking to the stand. I saw the new rub on the cedar tree from a distance. Got closer and there was a shed from last year stuck right by the new rub.

My “bird dog” in the field.

He missed this hunt with me, but was super pumped about the antlers on this deer.

My first archery buck off the small family place.

3 generations in the stand.
