I’ll be there with two of my brothers. First time and can’t wait.

I am thinking about throwing together a couple of short tripods for this hunt. What would be a good height for the brush there. I know it burned a few years ago. I am curious how high it has gotten since then.

Chap burned in 2008. It has grown up quite a bit. I wouldn't go more than 8' on the tripods.

When I was out there 3 years ago, my compartment had some large mesquite trees that I was able to get a lock on in. One tree put me about 15 ft up. Another one I got up around 12 ft. Then there were some other types of trees that I could have gotten even higher that were around a tank but location just didn’t seem right. So many trails, it was hard to choose a spot!!!

Pending 2nd here. The group of TBHers last year at the Chap were a bunch great guys. Never did see my Muy Grande but settled for a 6yr old doe the last 15 minutes on the last day. Best of luck!

6’ aluminum tripod will give you more options. Easier to to stick in a black brush or hackberry Mott. Good luck.
