Shot this big boy yesterday evening after not seeing anything for 3 whole days. Knew this little cold front would get something moving. Shot him in the heart and completely destroyed his lungs. And he was still able to run over 130 yards.
As I was following struggling to follow his blood trail. It was super thin and small blood drops in the tall grass. I noticed I already had a coyote following me on my side about 10 yards from me. I shot at him several times and just would not go away.
After the coyote finally ran off, then I was able to find the buck close to where the coyote was. Luckily I got to it before he could take a bite at it.

Very nice heavy horned buck. Congratulations on your hunting success. I sure wish one like that would give me a nice 20 yard broadside shot. Interesting story on the coyote as well.
