Dropped her deer off at my taxidermist the other day

She kept askin me how she should have it mounted. I told her that it was her deer and I’d pay to have it mounted however she wanted, short of a full body mount. My only suggestion was that if she wanted the head turned, have it turned to the animals left because EVERY animal we have mounted, is turned to the animals right

On the way out to Blaine’s, she said she’d decided and she’d show me at the same time she showed Blaine

Well she produced her picture of the mount she wanted, Blaine said hell yeah!! I can do that, it’ll be cool

There are folks now making these "vintage" back frames and items to use for mounts. They have been very popular in the NE for several years now as that fits more the mold of their hunting heritage. Probably weren't a lot of deer back packed out in Texas during the day altho I'm sure most were.

This is starting to be the new trendy thing to do, I like the look of them and plan on getting one done but I'm waiting on the right animal. I'd like to do one with a black bear, sitka buck, or Texas mule deer. I probably need to buy some props when I see them.

I found one on Etsy. I think she got hers on eBay. She said it was pretty pricey.
