    Raccoon Management

We hunt 2,000+ acres out in Edwards Country and we live in Utah, we only get out there about 8-10 times a year so not enough to constantly manage the coon population. Any tips on ways to effectively remove them? We run hand traps when out there but only so much we can do.

Find a local trapper you can trust to take care of the varmints for you. Wish I was close I could help you out with that.

Are the raccoons eating your protein?

I also suggest working with a trapper or a neighbor you can trust.

But when you are there I would do a full court press of DPs
and all the live traps you can buy. Even running them twice a day.

Get rid of the flies and the coons will go away.

Sounds like I need to find a trapper! Yeah we can get 20 each time we go out but doesn't seem to do a dent. Have a photo of 12 coons on our protein feeder! They're out of control. Our bobcat/coyote population is very low.. So foxes and coons are going crazy and starting to notice the decline in the rabbit population.

Zip tie rabbit water bottle to every protein feeder leg, the flies will learn to drink from it

Fly deal is a mess waiting to happen on a about 10 levels… especially if you have dogs around…. Not to mention it is VERY illegal

Options are a metric ton of dog proofs or work with a trapper… trapper is better option. I may know a guy who could do it

Golden Malrin in pancake syrup kills flys.

Pretty sure the potency of golden malrin is not what it used to be.

I think in your situation investing in coon hoods might be the way to go

Are the coons jumping up on the protein tubes?
                            I can’t /didn’t see a photo.

Best bet imo is to prevent access to the feed or buy coon proof feeders. Varmints will just keep coming.
