Caught the little bandit on camera finally. GW says they will probably put it down of we have to have them trap it, too many bears around she says and I believe her.
It's a cut little black bear but it has bad manners, and they grow up to be big bears with bad manners so it will probably have to go if it doesn't move on soon.
We do have the ok to take whatever means necessary if we find breaking into the house or bunkhouse and if it threatens anyone.

The brazen little cuss has been in the barn twice now midday.

Down time now at the ranch.
Hay was cut last week, not the best as hoppers moved in and took the best of it.
Water is flowing again in one meadow to help our power plant test plot.

The bear moved on after we cleaned up the grain and got darted and relocated from a house a couple of miles away one day after we had it on camera.

Been working on a new drive for our lot in the forest, well man is coming in 2 weeks to drill us a waterhole.

The cow elk adjusted my cam, hoping better pics this weekend.

Checked and moved the meadow cam to the garden.
Looks like we have a new family on the place and hoping they fur up nicely by winter.
Couple of whitetail bucks look like targets for archery season if they hang around long enough.
The apple trees in the garden were loaded, not anymore. Either weather knocked them down for the deer to eat of a careful bear go to them.
I'm looking forward to lots of deer pics in the garden now.

Going up today for some archery whitetail hunting, cow elk too maybe.
Update when we get back, no cell or internet at the ranch.
Getting the bunkhouse ready for the landowners elk and deer hunt in Oct.

We've got water !
Had our well drilled on our FS lot yesterday.
Bottomed out at 52 ft with good water at 30 ft.
Water comes out of the ground at below 40 degrees.

Not much so far but we're leaving Sunday for 5 days of moose hunting on West side of the state.
We ramp up hunting for everything else when we get back.

Thanks, spouse has the tag and I'll be calling.
Rifle season is open for moose and mule deer. I get to hunt mule deer and black bear, if we see one.
We can go back in Oct if we can't find a decent bull moose next week.
No service so I can' do any updates from the field.

Sorry, hunting seasons opened and we've been in the mountains.
Not much going on for management now as winter has arrived, snow and cold.

Cattle leave this weekend we think then we'll go do some scouting and maybe look for a cow elk and mule deer last week in Oct. Spouse does have a whitetail tag for the area too.
Horse feeding will start in Nov we think.

Trapping will commence about Thanksgiving, we go up for the holiday. Nice and quiet at the ranch.
New neighbors on the RMT tracks next door but they have turned out to be good folks.
