    HELP Old Ford Motor Experts

Got a 79 F100 4X4 down a hunting spot and water pump bit the dust. Know motor has been replaced and trying to figure out year and size of the 6 banger that was put in

All I have is PH334 off the old water pump

Thanks for any & all help Truck is 3 hours away so any additional info required would have to wait till next trip down

If it is an in-line 6 cylinder I would bet that it is a 300 ci. Those were good engines, I had 4 or 5 trucks with a 300.

The 76 with the inline six and three on the tree had over 400k on it before the components surrounding the engine gave out and it sailed into the bottom of an Arroyo.

Plenty of room and very easy to work on.

That will be a 300ci. Toughest motor ever built.

This is correct. Had a 79 that went through 2 of those engines.

And the ol 300 straight six was an option in '79 as far as year goes.
