Usually, these threads are worthless without pics. But, you provided some very nice pics. So nice in fact, that this thread is worthless without the story. Super nice!

Beautiful, what a great looking six fo! You should be proud of that one, it is just cool. Still kicking myself after all these years for selling my 1976 El Camino.

Now THAT’S a ride! Bring it and the fuzzy dice out here and visit me bruh. My turn to supply the cervezas! 👌

So in 2003 While dropping my kids off at elementary school I stumbled upon what I thought was an awesome project car. $2,500 later I had a 1964 El Camino in my garage. Wifey wasn’t keen on it, but I had big plans.

Sorry for bad pics, they are only ones I could find.. as you can see not in great shape.

Getting stripped down. I had my bro’s buddy getting ready for paint.

Neighbor put in the 350, interior was done by another friend.

          This is almost complete

          At a show in Louisiana.

Several shows and states. Generally took 1st or 2nd.
I should’ve stayed like this hahahaha. Well we were a family that loved classic rides and car shows. From that my pops had his 1979 square body Chevy shot for Truckin magazine.

My 1968 Chevy pu, my Dad’s 1979 Chevy pu and 1973 Mach 1
And the story of getting to where we are now is simply that I wanted a feature in a magazine. Asked the editor what I needed to do and I took it past that. Unfortunately in all this the economy tanked and my expendable income went to none lol. I did some horse trading w/guy building my truck. Did my part early on and over a decade later finally did his part. No more trades!! Oh well so thankful to finally have it back!! Now all I want to do is cruise on weekends w/wifey.

Looks great, Julio! El Camino's are very underrated these days.

That ride is sharper than two tacks. Very nice!

Looks great Julio! Love how you did the ‘clean’ firewall and inner fenders with every thing hidden. Looks soooo slick, congrats amigo

I like the two tone paint.
