    Daily Bible Portion (Monday)

    Daily Bible Portion – 2 of 7
    "INFECTED ONES"

    (Weekly Reading>>Leviticus 14:1-15:33, 2 Kings 7:3-20, Hebrews 13:4, Matthew 9:20-26, Luke 17:1-37)

God desires to be our covering. This is why He has given us the applications for life. Our covering is Jesus. He is the love, faithfulness and the goal of Torah – God's teaching and instruction called the Gospel. In His mercy God helps us when we innocently sin or miss following a direction in His word. In the case of King Saul, he chose to speak evil against David and after many warnings God allowed him to enter the realm of death to show him his errors. King Saul left himself wide open to influencing forces. In accordance with God's established laws of cause and effect, Saul's disobedience cut him off from the guidance and communion he had formerly enjoyed with God and left him prey to mental and emotional breakdown, a disease of the mind and soul. This was something Saul brought on himself (1 Samuel 18:10).

We need to take responsibility for our own walks and not blame others for our failures. We need to step into a walk of commitment and overcome our weak areas. The Bride makes herself ready and comes dressed in garments without spot or wrinkle to the wedding with her Bridegroom. Many miracles happened in Scripture for those who repented and changed their direction and/or association. Only Jesus, God in the flesh, is our Savior and Deliverer. He is our only healer.

God has prescribed a lasting healing process that leads to eternal joy for all who come to Him by faith. By following His instructions through applying the ritual application of life (repent, wash/baptism and anoint) is the walk of sanctification called redemption. In the time of Jesus, there were over two hundred baptism pools in front of the Temple, many of which can still be seen today. This act of the believer is a freewill offering in the ongoing purification process (Leviticus 5-7). Ceremonial washing is taught all through the New Testament(Brit Chadasha). The people who practiced the ritual application of God's teaching and instruction knew the value of the change of status. It was not for a physical cleansing but for a spiritual cleansing.

James 1:14-22 "Each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive your selves, DO what it says."

Colossians 2:13-15 "You were dead because of your sins, that is, because of your "foreskin," your old nature. But God made you alive along with the Messiah by forgiving you all your sins. He wiped away the bill of charges against us. Because of the regulations, it stood as a testimony against us; but he removed it by nailing it to the execution-stake. Stripping the rulers and authorities of their power, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by means of the stake." (CJB)

You do an awesome job and I enjoy learning from your writings. However, didn't Saul lose God's favor way before David came into play? 1 Samuel 15

He was removed as the chosen King from God that day. Samuel the prophet left, then was led to David.
I understand that Saul tried to kill David many times due to the demons that tormented him. David playing the harp or some musical instrument typically calmed those spirits and gave Saul rest. However, he was already ****ed long before David showed up.

Its a process which ended in God turning away from Saul and towards David to lead His people. In ch. 15 Saul was more concerned for what the people said than what God said. He disobeyed intentionally and disregarded The Word of God which is Jesus according to John ch. 1:1,14. When we reject The Word we reject Jesus! compare with Hebrews.

Hebrews 10:26-30 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth(John 14:6, Psalms 40:8), there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,"(Deut 7:9-10) says the Lord. And again, "The LORD will judge His people."
