Looks too big for a bird point to me but I'm sure an expert will chime in. Cool find.

Not for birds........I have found what I consider bird points and they are about a 1/4 that size, very small. That’s plenty big for deer and such

Its not a birdie. The base and notch appear heavily ground so that would make it early archaic or paleo.

That said, the county is right in my wheel house but I do not know the material nor what type it is. Interesting

                Maybe Jasper for material?

I dont think jasper too much banding. Maybe an iron Infused chert cobble from the Brazos . I'll call it a Wilson because of the ground base but its not quite right for a worked down Wilson either. It cou look d be an older type that got side notched by a later culture.

My granddaughter found this when we’re camping. There’s gravel all around the campsite.

I have one that looks EXACTLY like that. Was told it was used as a fishing weight. (Found in Nacodoches)
