    Boat issue /over reving

I took the boat out this afternoon. Started up fine then about 2 minutes after getting on plane it slowed it self down. It would then over rev and not really go anywhere. Had to creep back to the dock in idle speed. There is nothing blocking the prop. Any thoughts on what I need to do to inspect/fix it. Thank you

Sounds like we have all been there... there’s a rubber inside the prop that is no-bueno and is slipping

Looks like l’m now a member of the spun prop club. Thanks for the help as always. Hopefully I can replace just the hub without replacing the whole prop. It’s a rebuilt 225hp OX66, so far I can’t find one online, may have to call around tomorrow.

Spun hub. Happened to me last summer. At idle it would work, anything above that and it just spins. It was a long, slow ride back to the dock.

Nettles prop shop in Austin if your local will get you in and out in a day. Just to confirm its the hub. When it’s on trailer put it in gear and try to spin it. While motor is off and kill switch out too, obviously. If you mail it to them today prolly get it back by end of next week.
