I am still using the old Stihl after a new top end!

I liked my FIL's Stihl so much I bought a 250C just this week to do a job on my trees. Absolute ease in chain tightening from even my FIL's since it requires no wrench! Get the electric start, it IS worth the extra!

Have had great luck with both. For heavier work I would probably go Stihl.
But, my Echo has been a good one also.

I love em both. They each run like champs for me no problems

I bought an echo cp-550 a few weeks ago. So far with just a couple of cords and a few trees it is ok. I do need to tune for elevation though.
I'm looking for a 40-45cc saw now. I really want a pro-series husky. Priced a few stihls out also.

plus always run fresh gas and quality 50:1 and your saw will run forever.

I have the echo . The thing is a beast . Both are great saw . Either one if them would be a good saw . My echo starts real east normally one the second or third pull

Wow, lots of input. My two cents, listen to those you trust, know you may not get a machine as perfect or as poor as theirs in either brand. How you use it or don’t use it plays a roll. Both companies, Echo and Stihl, are strong and make great products. But they all break. Make sure you have a trustworthy service center nearby for the brand you chose. On a different note, Neither brand is immune to the issues created by ethanol blended fuel. If you buy pump gas, treat it. If you have light use the can gas is awesome. SEF by VP racing is 94 octane.
