    Blackbuck question in Mason county

Blackbuck herd is growing around our lease in Mason. We just started getting pics and seeing them the last couple of years and never harvested one. For those that hunt them in this area, what’s considered a trophy size? These are the biggest I’ve seen on camera this year and wanted to see if these were considered older and mature. I’m ready to go after one

None are giants by any means, but they are respectable. I’d dust one if he came out in front of me with a bow.

If they aren’t going anywhere, I’d let them keep growing.

Here is my wife's from a couple of weeks ago. It measured just under 20" and in my opinion is a trophy BB. You can also see the mass in these pictures as well, which was (not anymore) a very underrated feature of a trophy BB as well.

None of these are super older or mega trophies. They tend to be territorial once they reach this age and should stick around if nothing changes. Another 1-2 yrs would do wonders.

If I was going to shoot one, it would be second row, 2nd ram with the tight curls. He will always look longer than he is. Some of the others look to be growing bigger, looping curls and I'd keep them around a while.

They're not quite there yet. The narrow one needs at least 1 more year. The other need 2 more probably.

Unless you like them as they are now.

If you want to kill one do it, its your lease.

                            At least four curls.
