We're a 48 year old civil construction company in the Greater Houston Area, performing primarily underground utilities, earthworks and concrete placement. You drive by our projects everyday and may not know it. We do a lot big projects in a lot of different sectors and are looking for some seasoned teammates to continue growing with us.


    Title: Director of Project Management

    Description:

    Director of Project Management is to oversee Project Managers to ensure that all procedures are being completed in a timely manner. Oversee and mentor the project managers team for growth and consistency of internal process. Oversee projects based on the key function to manage a project which includes budgets controls, change management, material, and subcontractor procurement, pay applications and turnover meetings. This includes creating and tracking submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and change orders. Overall client management for the project to ensure a complete project, to the highest of quality, on time and with the budget allowed.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Oversight of the Project Managers assigned to ensure all roles as defined as a Project Manager, as well as support roles within the department.
    • Hire and retain trained and motivated staff.
    • Developing key performance goals and managing the performance of staff.
    • Oversee current internal process for Project Management departments to ensure proper documentation of the current process for training and improving internal processes for better productivity.
    • Provide mentoring and training as required for Project Managers.
    • Managing the budget and monitoring the financial for the Project Management Department.
    • Monthly review of project controls to ensure that all Project Managers are meeting requirements in each project.
    • Provide Monthly reporting to COO on month-end close process such as WIP review, revenue, and cost projections, and assist in monthly close-out.
    • Prepare and present department report in monthly management meetings.
    • Coordinate with field operations manager to facilitate weekly project update meetings.
    • Manage relationships as needed with key vendors and industry partners to support department and company objectives.
    • As a member of the management team, work together to ensure communication with internal departments is flowing in an efficient and collaborative manner.
    • All duties of a Project Manager for specific project if required to manage a project.

    o Establish Project Budgets and set up Schedule of Values
    o Accountable for ensuring that project revenue and cost numbers are entered accurately in the ERP system.
    o Review contract documents for scope and quality control for our work
    o Review Contract Documents and Create Request for Information
    o Maintain current set of contract documents in PlanGrid and in the network drive.
    o Establish and maintain official documents and records as needed.
    o Evaluate, estimate and Create Project Change orders for any changes to our scope
    o Create, maintain logs for submittals, RFIs and Change Orders.
    o Oversight of the field for proper notice to our clients for potential delays, change orders and overall coordination.
    o Responsible for reviewing daily reports and ensuring accurate production tracking, including labor and equipment.
    o Review of field upcoming schedule to ensure profitability and resource support
    o Responsible to ensure that all utility locate notifications are current.
    o Coordinate and Schedule Materials for the field.
    o Create Submittals and manage from Vendors for projects.
    o Issue Purchase Orders to Vendors, track, and log.
    o Review and maintain field PO log for assigned projects.
    o Submit to accounting all subcontractor request for payment (pay applications) for assigned projects.
    o Process Pay Application to Clients and coordinate with accounting.
    o Other duties as required.

    General:
    • Knowledgeable of computer-based programs such as Viewpoint, Microsoft Office Suite of Software (Word, Excel), and Bluebeam PDF.
    • Willing to sign a Texline Non-Disclosure Agreement.
    • Local travel may be required such as project coordination meetings.

    Physical Demands:
    Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Walking and standing are required only occasionally. Requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Requires normal/corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires good manual and finger dexterity to operate computers and phones.
    Work Environment:
    Work is primarily performed in an office setting and is considered sedentary work documents. The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
    Experience/ Education:
    High School diploma or GED required, four-year degree construction management or business degree preferred. Construction experience preferred.

Oversee projects based on the key function to manage a project which includes budgets controls, change management, material, and subcontractor procurement, pay applications. This includes creating and tracking submittals, RFIs, purchase orders, and change orders. Overall client management for the project to ensure a complete project, to the highest of quality, on time and with the budget allowed.

    Essential Functions:

    • Oversight of the permit process required for our work
    • Evaluate, estimate and Create Project Change orders for any changes to our scope
    • Oversite of the field for proper notice to our clients for potential delays, change orders and overall coordination.
    • Review Contract Documents and Create Request for Information
    • Create Pay Applications for Payments
    • Coordinate and Schedule Materials for the field.
    • Maintain current set of contract documents in Plangrid and in the network drive.
    • Establish and maintain official documents and records as needed.

    • Create Submittals and manage from Vendors for projects.
    • Issue Purchase Orders to Vendors, track, and log.

    • Ability to perform all duties of a Project Administrative Assistant
    • Knowledgeable of computer-based programs such as Viewpoint, Microsoft Office Suite of Software (Word, Excel), and Bluebeam PDF.
    • Willing to sign a Texline Non- Disclosure Agreement.
    • Local travel may be required such as running errands.
    • Other duties as required.
