Bumping this thread back up. This thread encouraged me to take my Thompson Encore pistol that I’ve had since college. Put a sharp bros grip on it, added a folding stock to it and threaded the barrel. Finally added a scope to it today. Should be a very cool backpack gun. Little 7-08.

Picked up a Pork Sword in 6.5 Grendel with a 12" barrel. A bit over $2k but it's a great one for the truck.

Well finally pulled trigger on it and got my .308 Encore barrel back after getting it pinned and welded with a brake for a rugged razor. Can still in jail but with it on should be a touch shy of 35” total length. Also just got 15 boxes of .308 150 gr Winchester ballistic silver tips in so I will be set for awhile I think.

Now question is what optic do I want to out on it.

I had an integrally suppressed ar10 built in the Creedmoor. I love it! I know I know, paying all that money and can’t swap the suppressor to another gun. But it’s the same length as a regular 16” barreled ar and just a tad heavier because if the ar 10 action. Shoots touching holes at 100 off bags. I went this route because I wanted an ar that I could use in the truck or deerstand without having to bang it around because it was 18 feet long with the suppressor. I’m more than happy with it.

This one doesn’t really match what the OP was looking for, but it is short and suppressed and everybody needs one. [emoji3]

Upper has a CMMG dedicated BCG and 4.5” barrel with a Dead Air Mask tucked under the handguard sitting on a SBR’d Mega Lower. A rabbit’s worst nightmare! Second pic is a 16” AR for reference.
