Outlander (series on Starz) is pretty great also. My wife is obsessed with it but I enjoy watching with her.
...with one caveat... Season 1 Episode 15 "Wentworth Prison" is so disgusting it's almost impossible to watch.

My wife has read all the outlander books and watches the series. She even has the new book on preorder. I don’t mind the series or the perks of her reading the books. [emoji6]

My friend owned an old western named "Scandalous John". We watched it multiple times back in the 80's. I can't find it anywhere now. It was a great movie! One of my all time favorites. I still laugh remembering the one cow he owned that he had branded probably 30 times.

I can't remember the name but another good one was about when the Army was eliminating the cavalry and was going to shoot all the horses, some of the soldiers stole them and drove them to Canada with the Army chasing them.

Duvall wasn't in Good Ol' Boys with Jones that was Sam Shepard and Sissy Spacek

Some films Jones directed and starred in that's good but few heard of:

"The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada"

"The Homesman"

One I just seen with Duvall and didn't catch was "Get Low" with Bill Murray and the Kid from all the pretty horses Lucas Black.

Another one I never heard of but Dad found on Tv and liked it so much he asked me to find a copy was with Roy Rogers called "Mackintosh & TJ" from 1975 that was filmed on the 6666 Ranch.

A good friend recommended this movie. He is hard to impress so when he told me I would like it, I made a point to watch. He was right; it is now one of my favorite movies.

The border trilogy books it's in (All the pretty horses, The Crossing and City on the plain) are awesome reads.

My wife has read all the books and is starting to re read them all again in preparation for the new book coming out. She gets together once a year with her friends to watch the previous years season over a weekend too.
