Default Deer Antler Pen

Dad made me a pretty cool pen with some deer antler he had laying around. He has a pile of them and decided to experiment outside of his normal wood and leather work. I thought it turned out pretty cool.

Very nice! He did a great job.

I've made a few but they are definately not my favorite! Not the easiest material to work with and it STINKS when you turn and sand it! Again he did a great job and especially nice since its from your dad!

Thanks everyone. He is a talented guy. He is the definition of humble though so you can't convince him of that.

When he retires in two years, Lord willing, I may talk him into a sponsorship for his wood work and leather work. Right now he just tinkers on weekends because he works a lot. The pens were an experiment to work with antler and I love the way they turned out. He made five different styles for different family members. Here is the one he made my wife.

Am I the only one that thought you were building a little trap or pen to catch Antlers when they shed?

Nice work.

When I was layed off I had a sponsorship and sold a lot of antler pens and razors on here. Unfortunately I had to give it up when I went back to work full time again.

Thatís incredible. I have one as well that my dad gave me as a birthday gift one year. Always thought that the lever action slide was a pretty cool accent

Awesome! I make pens and the antler bolt action pens are the most popular ones that I sell. I usually attempt the leave a bit of 'bark' on it when possible. With or without it, they're stunning!
