    Changing spark plugs on 2017 f150 5.0

Has anyone done this themselves? Seems easy to get to and remove coil packs. Wondering if there is a problem with breaking/stripping the plugs before I try it myself. Thanks.

I did it on ‘13, saw the warnings about braking plugs so I just went easy. Give a shot of compressed air into the recess to clear any possible debris before removing the plugs.

I had mine done about 2 months ago. 300 bucks but well worth my time and worry. If one breaks it sucks.

I don't know how different they are, but my '11 ecoboost is a breeze for spark plugs. so easy, that I change em every summer cause I'm a sucker and it only extends my oil change time by like 20 min. (I avg 20kmiles annually)

+1 blow the debris away before you pull the coils.

I dont believe fords have an issue with plugs breaking off in the block anymore. There was enough stink raised about it that they switched from the 3 piece spark plug which broke off 9 times out of 10 to a 2 piece back in 08-09 I believe. You should be fine just go slow.

5.4 3valves were the ones that break. 5.0 just do like normal and they are a piece of cake. We always replace the boots at the same time too.

Just wanting to change them more as a preventative maintenance.

Easy job but seems like #8 was a little hard to get to.
