Congrats. Back in the 70's I hooked a mako on the scat cat and got it to the side of the boat and the deck hands cut my line and wouldn't bring it on board Glad they let him land it.

I bet that was a good fight. Did he get tangled up with everyone else fighting that big boy?

I wasn't on the boat, but my understanding is the captain had everyone reel up. Several were not happy to give up and hour and 15 mins of drop lining. But the crew wasn't NOT going to get this one in. They were anchored. Went fully around the boat six times, under the anchor chain each time around.
