I was walking in my backyard yesterday, looking up in the trees and spotted this guy, a small sharp-shinned hawk and it let me snap over 400 pics total with 2 cameras. I thought it may have been hurt but it finally flew down to where I throw out seed. I decided it must be a young bird to be so tolerant. It sat there until a single bird finally flew by and it was game on, flew a circle with a miss, and landed about 6' from me. Unbelievable! Just not fast enough to catch it in the air. FYI, Sharp-shins and Cooper's hawks are bird eaters. Sharp-shinned is a smaller version of the Cooper's hawk though there are marking differences.
