    Wooden Beam Light

My wife was recently on that most evil of sites, Pinterest, and saw a light fixture that was "perfect" to go over the dining room table in the house we are building. She asked if I could build it and I said just find one and buy it. She found one and it was $2300 for the style she liked so I decided I would just build it and build one for my fly tying room as well. I decided to make the one small one first to practice for the big one. The little one is complete and about to start on the big one. The small one has long lights recessed in it but the big one will have 4 old style dome reflectors in it.

I used a circular saw to cut a bunch of times and then used a 4 1/2" grinder with a disc for grinding on wood. It went really quick.

I built houses and did remodeling till I retired and I despised that site. You get half way through a job and here comes the lady with her iPad wanting to change stuff.

I made them out of 1 1/2x 1/4 flat strap. Not hard at all. None of it was very difficult or I wouldn't have been able to do it.
