Tikka T3x Scope mounting

Just bought a new Tikka T3x Heil Wideland. Do you mount the rings directly to the gun or use a Picatinny rail to mount them on? What’s the best way?

I used Warne rings directly on rifle with my Tikka T3x. Very clean and I have it topped with a Leupold 40mm scope.

I have a regular T3X and used Talley rings. Get the lowest height that fits the scope you have.

Does the caliber matter? I’m shooting a 7mm.

if you are going to use a scope and leave it, direct. i use day scope and thermal , so i went picatinny so i can quick swap . you can also get pic rails with some built in moa for long range ... if it's just a basic hunting rig .. regular rings are fine..
