Looking for a modest priced scope (less than $300) for a 30-06 rifle. Looking for reviews/recommendations.

This and only this. Well maybe a Burris but the leupold will be hands down the best scope under $300. Whatever you do DO NOT buy a vortex They are junk. My grandpas 40 year old Tasco is better than any vortex from the viper line down

Yes- the quality of Vortex is very lacking these days! They used to be purdy darned good but not now!

When my Nikon failed, I went with a Bushnell Prime 3-9x40 for my 3030.

The other scope I looked at was the Vortex Diamondback
