Default Catfish Tacos

I've caught a lot of catfish this year and got tired of frying.

Preheat a cast iron skillet with a little oil.

Also preheat an inch or so of oil in a sauce pan.

Cut up catfish fillets into 2-3" pieces.

Season both sides medium to heavy with blackening seasoning. I prefer this one:

Chop up some purple cabbage and cilantro. Shredded cheese is optional.

Cook the catfish in the skillet on medium high. I think I did about 4 minutes per side (depends on thickness of filet and how black you want it)

While that's cooking, fix you up some corn tortillas. Fry in the sauce pan of oil about 10 seconds on each side (or longer to make them crispy).

Make up your tacos with fish, cabbage, cilantro, squeeze on some lime juice, and then use some of this magic deliciousness...

Enjoy! Great use of these tasty bottom feeders.

Not my picture...but they look like this:

Pretty much exactly how I do mine, except I use butter instead of cooking oil. My favorite way to eat fish.

Yesir, make you up those tacos then make a batch or cole slaw and add a can of drained crushed pineapple to the slaw and mix. Good stuff.

We make these all the time. Feta cheese tops it nicely.

I was born and raised in Texas and that's the best slaw you'll ever eat with fish tacos.

Just messing with you. I just hate coleslaw and pineapple coincidentally

Made with sandbass. Got the dressing, but with already putting cilantro and lime I preferred ranch. We liked it so much I made more the next day. Thanks for the recipe. I used white corn tortilla and only used one. Not a fan of the yellow and doubling up. Thanks for the recipe. Something different.
