Bring bug spray. Not for skeeters but horse flies. They werenít bad all of the time but when the wind laid down they could be aggravating.

Good Tip!
When they bite they leave blood. Luckily, I had some off in my bag.

Guys, thanks for a great trip! Even if the catching is out of this world, a trip can be ruined by a bad apple or two. This was definitely not that trip. The fishing was great and the group of guys we had was even better. I can't wait til the next one. Cheers!

Sorry its taken so long to post these but i found out a few things on this trip! I very quickly I learned I had a lot to learn from some of these guys and I wasn"t quiet as good of a fisherman as I thought I was! Then today I remembered I absolutely suck at computer and picture stuff! I also realized I should have taken more pictures but thats hard to do when the fish are biting! Anyway lets see if this will work...

Google … “ redfish point chandeleur islands “

Click on the map and the satellite image will be displayed

Zoom in and you can see the Compass Rose to left of RP

I can remember when the CI’s were 100-200 yds wide , 30 miles long, and full of lush green marsh grass. The estuary held incredible amounts of bait (crab, shrimp, cocahoe, croaker, etc..) and you could literally catch a fish on every cast. At one time you could also pitch a tent and camp on the islands

Great pics Doug!! Seashells on that beach look really cool. I was hoping for a cheesecake pic since I heard it was so good. Got my Bart's Bay Armor Ray boots and they are super comfy. Looking forward to using them. Congrats again on an amazing trip, guys!! That stringer pic is epic!!

Anybody know if Deep Woods Off works for hose flies?

The cheesecake did not survive long enough after unveiling to get in any photo ops.

It looks worse than it is. We didn't really need sunscreen that trip and I never burned and peeled. It was overcast pretty much 95% of the time
