This is a really good question.

I don't how a deer might react.

I can say that horses absolutely can tell. A stallion will definitely have a reaction to a lady on her period.

If a horse can tell, I would think a deer could tell.

If I had to venture a guess, I would say it would be a benefit.

Urine is urine. If you pee on a scrape, bucks react like another buck peed in their scrape. I would expect that a lady on her period is like a doe in estrus.
