Good point. I donate 30 Thanksgiving meals to the church and buy gifts for family's for Christmas. Atleast I know then, 100% goes to those that need it

Thanks very good post. I made a decision several years ago that I would no longer donate to any organization, non profit or even my church (outside of tier donation). I lost trust in where the money, clothing and foods go/helping. My church gets severely abused as they of course do not have any discretion when handing out. So for the past several years mine have all been hand to hand transactions directly with the individual that I am helping. I find that much more rewarding. Sorry if this comes off wrong to some.

Tunnels to Towers Foundation appears to do good work...I know nothing of their operation in regards to salaries & what not, but has an outstanding reputation.

We give each month to Tunnel to Towers, St. Judes, and the Shriners. Christmas is not the only time to be charitable.

Fisher House Foundation builds comfort homes where military & veteran families can stay free of charge, while a loved one is in the hospital.
These homes are located at military and VA medical centers around the world.
In 2018, the administration and fundraising expenses were 8% of expenditure.

A memorial can be given for a family member who served in the military. I give to the one in Ft. Hood where my grandfather served. There is a great website, and donations can be made from your laptop.

I’ve been trying to find someplace to donate meals this thanksgiving. Everyone I’ve contacted just wants $$, never figured it would be so difficult to donate purchased meals. If anyone knows someone down on their luck or if there’s a homeless individual near where you live please get in touch with me.

I speak highly for Make-a-Wish. They went above and beyond our expectations for my son's request. They removed any burden in our way and handled all the details.
