Christmas light attachment HELP!

I got the roof done this weekend. But now I’m scratching my head on the porch columns….

Years past I just stapled to the cedar post and was done…. BUT my lovely wife wanted me to build rails (steel) and wrap the cedar in concrete board to paint…. Cause she looked at Pinterest

So, any ideas that won’t have me repainting post in order to attach? I think one attached point at top will be enough…. But I hate to “test” on this because it was the biggest pain in my @$$ to build

we use hot glue on our brick columns, but I am not sure what it would do to your paint.

One staple point at the top and then wrap down. Should work just fine.

Definitely Zip ties. Hot glue will peel the paint more than likely.

This^^ long white zip tie top,bottom,and mid if needed but I bet it’s not. You will still need to t/up paint with hot glue and you know it will not match.

Zip ties. I hate Pinterest! Way too many of my man-chores originate from that site.
