JM Marlins and Winchester 94’s have gone up a lot in the last few years.
The Marlins are getting some crazy amounts.
Even the Marlin 336W I have is going for more than what paid for it. I bought a Winchester ranger 30-30 from here a couple years ago that is going for way more than I paid for it.
I guess i have been out of the gun buying game for a while
They’re bringing more than they’re worth, but that’s true of other things as well. At least guns don’t drop drastically in value as soon as you take ownership.
Remington went bankrupt recently and they sold the Marlin brand off to Ruger. My understanding is Ruger is coming back out with the 336, but in the interim, there is zero supply. Similar thing when Winchester firearms was bought by FN and they changed plants. The 94 skyrocketed in retail.
I bought one on here pre covid. Broke even a year later and could have gotten more but didn't want to gouge anyone. They ain't being made like they used to be so prices went up.
Back in 2001 I picked a Marlin with scope for $120 about a week later I'm talking to my buddy and he says I have a Marlin with a scope on it in a hard case if you want to buy it, I said yea maybe let me take a look at it, about a week goes by before I see it and I say ok how much do you want? He say's give me $80 for everything. Man that was a good few weeks.
