16 point buck - low fence

11/25/2006. Tilden TX. A day I’ll forever vividly remember. 50 yard frontal shot, bullet never exited, dropped him. Shot with Winchester 30.06 passed down from my grandpa to my dad to me.

Man that’s a great buck! The fact that you shot it with your grandads old rifle makes it really special!

The frontal shot, risky but lethal in my experience. Nice deer.

Not if you can shoot... Frontal, right in the "white spot" DRT every time.
If you're not confident or can't shoot, don't take the shot... Right between the front shoulders will give you the same results, but will gut shoot the deer... For a buck like the OP's, who cares about a gut shot?

                        Especially at 50 yards.

If you look just a few inches below the white spot on the pic of his shoulder mount, you can actually see where his fur is ruffled from the bullet entry. No way I was giving him the chance to run!
