I was hooked up on a decent mako one time. He came out of the water and I forgot what I was doing. I let too much slack get in the line and he tail wrapped the line.

Hardly ever hear about a Mako being caught off of Port A. Usually the big fish caught off of Port A. are hammer heads, black tips, occasional tiger. Don't remember the last time I heard of a mako being caught off of Port A.

And I've been on that catamaran 1 time. Caught more snapper than anyone else on the boat. But didn't catch the biggest . It was an employer sponsored outing. We leased out the boat for a 12 hour trip.
