    Deer Feeder

I decided to start my own thread here. I built a quick little stand and fill type feeder out of some scrap stuff we had laying around. I had a little lease close to my house and I was going to make it my second feeder on the place. Well as I was hurrying to get it finished before gun season started we got word that the lease shrank and I got kicked off.

So I talked to a couple of students and asked if they wanted to build a better looking deer feeder and see if we could sell it.

I have no idea how much corn either of them will hold when completed. The new one is little bit bigger than the first. The new one should be close to what a 55 gallon drum holds.

Here are some pictures for you entertainment!

Would love some ideas and constructive criticism as well!

***I have no idea why the pictures are sideways or how to correct them***

            What did all that cost?

We are still making the one that we are tracking the cost. The one that I built is all from scraps that we had laying around the shop--kind of a hodge podge so to speak. When we get more progress I will post up more pictures.

Even sideways it looks like it should work out great.

Are you a AG teacher? I’m asking because you mentioned students.

I am a welding teacher in high school. I was an Ag teacher prior to taking this job. Very similar roles--not as many projects for beginners and no wood working tools! Oh yeah--No afterschool responsibilities!

Here is a little update--we haven't made too much progress--Between Thanksgiving break and Christmas break the kids have pretty much shut down and almost require me standing there telling them every move to make--with as many projects as we have right now, that doesn't work all that great!

Sweet build. What size gauge are the panels?
