Solar powered and antenna boosted game cam setup

Trying to both boost reception to my cellular game cam as well as keep it powered with the sun so it can go a month or so without me actually going to swap batteries. Decided to do a pole mount so I can get a 10’ antenna and a moveable base. Began with an old tire, some cement, and conduit.

Welded a nut to the conduit so I can use a bolt as a set screw to hold the pole tight as well as some scrap to the bottom of the pipe so I could set it in the cement.

Nice idea and build, let us know how it works, good luck.

Is that a directional or omnidirectional antenna?

Well.... I’ve got to give respect to my neighbor. This is a ZERO RECEPTION “no service” valley and we went and put out the camera today and it is pulling FULL BARS with the small black antenna. I’ve never seen one of these cameras show full bars, but this one is and is doing it where there is no reception. Absolutely amazed and completely happy!!!

Funny I have the same antenna plus a coupe of others I have tried. 10 feet up and no difference with a Covert or Spypoint Camera from the stock antenna. Go figure.

Added a directional antenna and getting pics 24-7-365. Made a huge difference in reception.
