I went to visit Scotty last Monday but he wasn't home and I happened to have my camera with me so...
There is a small island that the locals hate (ask Scotty) but photogs love. There are basically four wading species of birds that nest there. Great egrets, Snowy egrets, Cattle egrets and Little blue herons. Breeding plumage is noted by darker red beaks, feet on the smaller egrets, bright green lores on the great egrets and deepened blues on the Little blues. I went a little earlier this year than I normally do and it was much better smelling.
A link to the gallery but also a few samples.
