I haven't put out HB feeders yet... That's this coming weekend's project... Grandsons are coming out to play with Poppa... Gotta save something cool for them to do...

Still a little early, but I counted 50 plus yesterday.

I've seen quite a few new birds around the feeder in the last few days

VERY nice little Martin community there!! How far off the ground are your boxes?

Thanks! That's about how I have mine, but I don't have that highline for 'em to sit on... Wish I did sort of... Would be a good place to knock the heads off the starlings instead of having to have them sitting just right on the houses so I can get them without shooting the house...

Rubi what kind of pipe are your poles?
I’ve been using 1” inside of 1 1/4” for years but they take a beating in strong storm.
                          Yours look really straight.

We had 3 pair in Bee county prior to the big freeze. Found a dead male on one of the houses afterwards (I assume it froze to death). Hadn’t seen any since until just now. As I was reading this thread, I thought I heard one, looked up and low & behold there were 2 on one of the houses! They’re back!!! 😊

1” rigid. They still move quite a bit when the wind is blowing.
