    Cedar glider

I am going to attempt to make this pile of wood into this glider. I am not a carpenter, just playing one

I built that one for my kids. Now my Honey wants one [emoji2] I just bought a wood lathe to play with, but she wants her glider first. She knows if I open the lathe I would play with it instead. So, here goes

Looks cool. I bet the outcome with the use of the cedar will be stellar! Are you gonna clear coat it for a natural look or put a little stain to enhance it some?

Start with base. Ripped to length.
A few half laps and a few dado cuts
        Good fit

        Time to glue and screw
Time to start on the end frames

          I like the clear coat

Lol, that is my wood lathe, in the box, that I am not allowed to open until I finish the glider [emoji3]

Looking good! I'll be watching for the finish.

Save your thicker cut offs of cedar to use with your lathe.

Cut out the end frame components. Had to use dado blade to make a few rabbet cuts

                Square it up
Glue and screw time. Seat frame is next

Ripped to length. Had to use dado blades again. I used band saw to cut the curve of the seat in

Gluing and screwing, as always make sure to square it up
                      Time to cut some slats

You look pretty handy at the carpentry stuff, if you ask me. Following.

Thanks. Cut the seat slats to size. Had to router 1/4” round overs on each side. Except front edge, used 1/2” round over on that.
Time to glue and screw. I add a little glue under each slat, don’t know if it is needed [emoji2369], but feels tighter finish to me

Time to start backrest. It has a lot of cuts.
Cut to length, but now I have cut the slight radius on each one
