    Cmp 1911 a1

Well I got a call this week from the CMP 1911 program. My number came up to purchase a US 1911A1 pistol. I picked it up Thursday from my local gun shop. The frame was made by Ithaca Arms and according to the serial number it was made in 1944. Slide is Colt. Glad to have part of American history.

Wow. Can I ask what that great piece of history cost thru CMP?

            Just emptied old messages.

I looked up the CMP 1911 program. Which grade did you get? As I understand the pricing, it’s set at fair market values for the 1911s?

Thank you for the pm and information.

I’ve always wanted a 1911- just because. Having one from WW2 would be nice.

I never thought I would have to opportunity to own this part of history. I inherited a M1-D Garand from my dad. The CMP had a drawing in 1999 and he got drawn.
                Thanks
                Bill

I’m reviewing the CMP 1911 application. It says applicant must be a member of a gun club associated with the CMP. That rules me our.

My number was like 38,000 when I sent in my packet. But this is the third round of sales. I think it’s more of how long you will wait vs if you get one. My name was in about three months.

Thanks. I’m retired in Montana, but the state rifle association here’s only $20/ year.
