    For those who own a business

    1. Have you ever been audited by the IRS?
    2. Were you in past years worried you will eventually be audited?
    3. Are you going to start doing anything different now that they are going to hire 86,000 new IRS agents?


    My answers.
    1. No
    2. I was always worried. Because it would be a huge pain and cost lots of money to prove the company paid enough in taxes. That and we all know taxes can be done 1,000 different ways so there's no telling the BS they'd come up with.
    3. I don't have a business anymore but I'd sure walk the straight and narrow line and spend extra time documenting it with CPA.

    No reason to be worried at all; Joe said they will now be able to answer phone call in seconds, no more long waits to get to a representative

        I was audited once. First round, I owed them money, next round with them, less, third time my accountant met with them, I got a refund. We left it at that. And that bill to flood the IRS with new employees hasn't passed. But it's not designed to increase the effectiveness of the agency, it's just designed to put more people on government dependent jobs. It's how socialism advances.

            Never been audited, and yes worried they will some day. As you stated, we do everything right, but you never know what kind of BS they will come up with. When I started the LLC I hired a CPA to handle all the payroll and tax stuff, its just too complicated for me to handle now. SP was no big deal.

              I was audited once. Didn't pay taxes on a big win at the casino. I mean I know they told me that several times as they where putting the money stack in my hand....but I just thought that was a suggestion.

                  Crazy thing, remember the wingnut that flew the plane into the IRS building in Austin? The one guy he killed had done all 3 of my audits. He had me by the stones once and let it slide. He knew it was just bad record keeping. He was a good man. RIP Brother.

                      Owned business for over 20 years, never audited, never worried about it, let my CPA do all my tax returns.
                      Retired so if they want to audit me, fine.

                      Better hang on to your butts because all these extra agents are going after the middle to lower income families that do their own returns! The millionaires and billionaires have tons of CPA's and the money to fight these audits. Middle to lower income families do not!

                            Who isn’t? But at same time we pay a cpa dang good money to worry about that for us.
                            Nope, will just continue to have our CPA do their thing.
