    Game Camera Charger ??

If you put rechargeable AA batteries in the camera and then plug a solar charger in to the external 12 v power port, will it charge the batteries?

Yes sir. I ran 3 years on one set of batteries this way.

Ok seems easier than trying to build an entire setup separately with an external battery. Just don’t see too many posts about it.
What batteries did you use? Are the 2500 series energizer rechargeables ok?

Yes they are. I prefer the 2400 mah Amazon Basics batteries. I’ve had great luck with them.

That's a cool idea I hadn't seen before. But I have a question for those of you that have used this solar panel kit.

The Amazon ad shows that the 12V output port uses the 4.0mm x 1.7mm male conenctor, and the 6V output port uses the 5.5mm x 2.1 mm male connector: is this the case on your setups?

I ask, because all of my cameras are 6V and have the 4.0x1.7mm connection ports. Most 12V connector ports I've seen, typically use the 5.5x2.1mm connectors. So the ad verbiage appears incorrect. I'm just wondering what it truely is. I could make it work either way, just have to do a little splicing of wires. But that seems counterintuitive when buying a product made for this use.

There are several cables that come with the unit. I think maybe 3 with different sizes.

Cuddelink used to do this with their cameras. When you ordered to solar kit it came with rechargeable AA batteries. They worked great. I’ve got 2 cameras that I haven’t touched in over a year. But they have changed the design and their kit now comes with rechargeable battery packs inside the solar panel.

Amazon solar panel and charge controller, 3 - 7ah 12v feeder batteries with assorted wire connectors wired in parallel, the cord from an old HME solar charger, a Plano plastic ammo box with gasket and couple pieces of 2x4" to mount it to the tree
