My wife was approached by a major corporation to apply for a position that they had open. She was fast tracked through the interview process. Yesterday she had the final face to face interview that wasn’t supposed to happen until after the first of the year. The final question that they asked her was if she had received the covid vaccine. She said no and told them the reason that she has not been vaccinated is that she is a cancer patient and her oncologist has told her that he doesn’t recommend it. She was contacted by the corporation today and told that they found someone more inline with company objectives. I know that there is nothing that we can do about it but it really ****** me off that this crap has been allowed to dictate and control our lives

HIPAA says they can’t ask your doctor, your insurance company or other healthcare providers.
I have read that with the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) they can ask an employee or prospective employee if they have been vaccinated. If the person says no, they cannot ask a follow-up question as to why which could be a medical disability question and would violate the ADA.
Maybe that happened in the original post and if so, in my opinion, it would violate the ADA but not HIPAA.

She feels confident that no vaccine is why she didn’t get the job. The entire chain of interviews was supposed to take almost a month. They fast tracked her through and she completed the process in two weeks. The final interview was with a panel of people. She said their demeanor changed as soon as she answered no to being vaccinated. I won’t name the company but will say it was a major pharmaceutical company
