    Maker bullets

Anyone have experience with maker bullets? I’m going to get some to play with in my 300blk pistol. Please let’s not debate shooting animals with subs in this thread. Let’s just discuss maker bullets and how their performance. Thanks.

Haven’t tried them on game but into dirt and such they expand well.

I have killed one deer subsonic with Makers. Makers will expand at subsonic velocities. I place a lot more trust in them than in the factory Hornady Sub-X rounds.

Everything I’ve seen in the sub-x have been sub-par.

Have shot a lot of Makers in both super and subsonics, all in 458 SOCOM. Not cheap, but work great. I'm a believer.

Do you know the impact velocity for proper expansion?

The 458 Socom Rex bullets will definitely expand a sub velocities. I haven’t shot an animal with one yet but this one was recovered from my dirt back stop from about 40 yards.

One of the bullets beside a loaded round.

Mine looked exactly the same when I shot a bag of concrete that had been left out in the rain. I figured it would grenade, but all 3 bullets were recovered and looked the same.

I built my Socom specifically for shooting subs. The 300 blackout with huge expanding subs just doesn’t have the *** to push through. The Socom has 4x the energy on target as the blackout.
