I have some of both, I like both, I think they are by far the best quality on the market, I do believe Sitka is slightly better.

Why does it have to be one or the other? Buy them both. LOL. I think Sitka has more of a variety of what your looking for.

My opinion is synthetic fibers don't deal with odor near as well as wool. Either brand is very good quality, you won't run into seams splitting or lack of comfort. Both brands I think a tailored to the mountain hunter more than the stand hunter.

I have both and like them equally for different applications.

Sitka for cold - hands down.
              Kuiu for mid weight
              Neither for hot weather
              T shirts everyday from both.

                What about noise while moving?

I have worn both and am not impressed with either to be honest.. Layering a $300 jacket to stay warm? why? I can layer under my Duck Camp Camo and be just fine lol

I’ve been die hard Sitka from the beginning and think the price is justified - that being said I believe Kuiu to be quality and wouldn’t hesitate to buy it.

I know you asked about those two brands specifically. But take a look at First Lite before you make your decision.

I have all three brands. Sitka and Kuiu are great and I wear both, especially out west. But, I like my First Lite gear better than both of them for Texas/deer stand hunting.

They are meant to be worn in the cold or hot while moving. Most of the stuff are NOT, especially Kuiu, intended for sitting in a box blind in freezing temps. Saying well I can just wear my carnhartt coat and bibs and be fine sitting in a stand is problably right. Get out to track a deer or load a deer and I guarantee youll be sweating carrying that 10lbs of coat and bibs in your arms. Be like comparing on the offroad capability of a truck vs an electric car.

I prefer Sitka for the most part but Kuiu has the best early season gear in the Tiburon series. Other than that, I prefer Sitka.

Both are quality products. Kuiu does have hot weather options which is what i like for bow hunting early season.

Kuiu Tiburon pants are extremely breathable with side zips down both sides to vent even more while hiking etc. Those are my go to pants for bow hunting when im sitting there and its hot.
The Kuiu Gila crew or hoodie are both good for when its hot.

Kuiu also has plenty of options for sitting in cold weather, you have to think they designed options for people sheep hunting in Alaska to sit in the cold and glass mountins all day, where the wind and rain are plentiful. So a box blind with cold weather options shouldn't be a problem. You just have to buy the right stuff for the appropriate hunting you will be doing.

And for the record i dont use any camo patterns from KUIU, i just use solid earth tones. Not that i don't like their camo patterns i just get double use as daily pants/ shirts in solid colors.

Sitka on the other hand has options which are nice if you hunt from a tree stand, you can wear your harness under your clothes an it has a spot in the back to run your harness out of.

Someone else mentioned FirstLite, ive never used them but would be worth looking at.
Only thing that sucks about Kuiu is its direct to consumer so no where to try things on other than people you know or going to the Kuiu store in Sacramento.

I wear mostly KUIU. The Kutana Stretch pants are the best I have found for what I do. I wear them from Laredo to Colorado in September. They are built a lot tougher than the Tiburon.
After that I wear almost all merino KUIU for the tops. I do have a Sitka Fanatic Hoody in black that is my go to for deer hunting when its colder.

It's all good stuff. Sitka is usually more expensive, but you can find places to try it on. KUIU costs less, but you have to order it (They have been rolling through Texas lately)...They do make it very easy to do returns.
