Pop up platform - I think

So I started building an elevated platform form a pop up bling I ordered. 6 ft tall base height.

Still have cross bracing, safety rails, and ladder to build. Is 6 ft too high?

That will likely put the bottom of your windows at about 8.5’. It will limit to some degree how close a shot you can take but not by too much. After you get it mounted I would shoot at a bag target to get a feel for how close you can shoot.

I made mine about 2.5 feet high, but I do have one on a 10’ quad pod. I made my own blinds though so my windows are big enough to shoot pretty close.

Height is perfect to me. I had a couple very similar. Put a trap door in the floor and ladder underneath. Makes it a lot safer getting in and out.

          That’s a great idea

Depends on the blind. Some have windows that come down lower & it won't be an issue.

I build mine just high enough so the deer can see under.

I build most of mine 5 foot. 6 foot should be no problem especially for 20-30 yard shots.

It's pretty simple. Just make the platform the size you need & bolt on a 4 x 4 post in each corner cut to the length you want for the height. Put some 2 x 4's around it a foot or so off the ground & some at angles for braces. This pick is before I added the braces to it.

Here's one I made. 48" tall and I left a 24" porch in the back for easier entry.

i have been using old hay rings, you can usually find them on craigslist or even laying out in a pasture not being used that you may get just for hauling it off. most are 4.5-5ft tall.

2 pieces of 5/8" plywood and (3) 6x12's and you are good to go....last one i built cost around $60 for lumber, but that was a few years ago.

Here are a couple I have built. 8' tall, on a 8 x 8 platform. I have used the elevators and built them without. They hold up good, your wind stays out of the direct area.
