    Dog flea collars

Do these work? I saw a couple hunters putting these around their ankles to keep the chiggers off. My dogs are scratching a lot so assuming chigger bites since I can't see fleas.

    Just wondering if they work.

Pure trash, bought the 65 dollar one from Petsmart and it was a joke, did nothing!!!! The best thing IMO is the pill from the vet.

Tim, we started using the Seresto flea collars. Seems to work pretty good, but they are around $60

Collars never worked for my dogs! Tried few different once and still there where ticks here and there. My dogs spend 90% of their time in the woods so probably there is no collar which can be that effective. I had a discussion with our vet and with pet meds online and started to give them frotline plus. For 8 months now i didn't find a single tick on them and i check it regularly. Hope it's gonna stay the same in the future. Very happy with the meds so far

Collars are the least effective form of parasite control for dogs.

                Thanks a lot!
Never tried Nexgard but will do next time.
                Any side effects?

All of the oral products should not be used if your dog has a history of seizures. All can lower the seizure threshold.

I use the heart worm with flea and tick protection for my dog. Advantage Plus, I believe.
