    South Texas Hunters Thread 2019

    Hopefully y’all had a great season last year and here’s to another good this year.

    I will be heading down this month or beginning of next to look for sheds and do a little turkey hunting.

    We have a deer on camera down in freer that has shed both sides already, way early for us

        We haven’t found any sheds yet, dad has been keeping the feeders full, they were hammering it early but seems they have back off some since then!

        Should be starting to shed here in 3 weeks!

          Found 1 shed today. Saw 10-12 bucks and all still had both sides. Still early for us. Starting to green up here some. Some rain would help.

            Gonna head back down in a couple weeks and top of corn, protein and cotton seed feeders.

            Probably still be a little early for sheds, but I’ll do a little looking..

            Got my biggest to date this last season, time to try and grow a bigger one..

              Hopefully we get some better deer showing up. We added another three hunters to our lease bring in the number up to 5 total on 1100 acres. We are off to a good start with 5 protein feeders and 4 cotton seed pens allready going. Had the dozer out this weekend for some much needed brush maintanence.

                No sheds yet. Saw 5 bucks this weekend only one of the smaller ones had dropped. Got a good 8 we passed on this year on camera. Glad to see he made it.

                      Same thing down in freer too, gonna try and put out some cottonseed and see what happens

                        Anybody know if the deer have started shedding antlers around Brooks County yet? Thinking of making a trip this weekend or next.

                            Last weekend all the bucks I saw still were attached, but father in law saw one at his spot with one side gone.
