Age this North Texas Buck

I got all these pictures on 9/29. I know the drought in Wise/Montague counties has affected the body sizes of the herd. I would appreciate any and all age replies!

I sent pics to my deer expert. He has managed whitetails (and raised them for years).

He says 7+

3- Look at the distance between his eyes . His face and head is not mature , a big old mature bucks head will have eyes that are wide apart.

Im in the crowd the says 5+ because of his body to leg ratio. His legs look pretty short in those pics.

I guess it’s possible he’s old enough to start looking young again, and that seven or eight range, but I just don’t see it. Taking into account every photo so far, I still think he’s four.

I guessing 6+ Neck flows into the brisket and in the third pic he shows some definite callousing of the knees. He could also be 4 and just spent a lot of time trying to get a pay raise ��

Going with 4. Hind quarters look slightly bigger if not same size as front end. Only slightly swayed back, neck doesn’t look very deep in all photos but 1. A full side profile photo would certainly help.

I’d say 3-4 based off his body mass and jaw size! Great looking deer though.

This thread is all over the map! I appreciate all the comments. I was also torn by the pictures. I am going to continue to post up new pictures of him if I receive any. Hopefully, we can get a closer consensus. Happy hunting, let ‘Em fly and definitely shoot straight!!!
