Always loved the idea of live scope. Not the cost. Just wondering if everyone who got it thinks it’s a drastic change in their fishing?
I’m usually on the water every weekend so I’d use it I’m sure but wondering yalls thoughts specially when it’s to dang hot now to be out on the water all day. Thanks Scott |

I do, I think it's awesome. IMO you don't need it if you are fishing a lot of shallow stuff. I really like it for Crappie. Will probably use it more this summer for some off shore bass. I will say though that at times I find myself glued to it trying to find my bait.

I use mega 360 more than livescope, but they both have their advantages, and work great if you have both.

I never had a chance to use it but I bet it would be a dream for targeting big cats and gar.

My concern is I’ll be glued to it. Also saw a guy pull up stick a bait in a fishes face with it not get a bite for a bit and take his boat out saying fish arnt eating today.
Kinda takes the fun out of enjoying the outdoors doesn’t it? |

My new boat comes in at the end of this month. Your welcome to come check out livescope and catch a few crappie. I've targeted some big cats with it on Conroe and dropped on big gar in the Trinity using it. Its a great tool.

Best for crappie and white bass for sure. They just came out with new model so old lvs32 models are getting easy to find in the used market (around $800 -$900 I've seen for tranducer and black box). Graph could run $600 to $3k depending on what size you want. I have the garmin 1022 and it's great.

I’m running the Lowrance Active Target (fished the LiveScope with guide). I did some homework and AT was the better option for me but I think it’s splitting hairs. I’m a Lowrance guy so went with what I know. YouTube has some great videos to gain some knowledge.
Ultimately I’m in both camps, throwing a line in therapeutic but also learning to leverage the technology is pretty cool as well… G. |

Yes.
But, It's not an end all be all. It's not going to make the fish bite, especially when they're being finicky. You'll end up spending more time running the lake slow with sidescan on, marking, then going back to see it those structures hold fish. For efficiency, it's a game changer. i'm a bass fisherman first, but do love catching crappie. It's definitely a game changer. i pulled up on 3 different spots to fish for crappie on saturday. first 2 spots, they would come up to my bait and check it out but wouldn't eat it so i knew not to waist my time there. got to the 3rd spot and they were eating. probably had 200-300 crappie stacked up on a rock pile. had a limit of 12"-16" fish in less than an hour.

I bought my boat with Livescope on it from Drycreek on here, and can tell you as a crappie fisherman it is life changing. There is a small learning curve to it, but once you get it down it is amazing.
It definitely has not taken the fun out of it for me and I have already learned a lot about fish behavior and patterns just by watching their reaction to different baits, and even their likelihood to bite by how they are positioned on structure. Definite game changer if you like to crappie or panfish and well worth it. |

I have active target similar it’s a game changer and allows you to eliminate marks found with side scan quickly. But it vacant be frustrating to see fish swim up and then reject you bait.

There must be something too it. I've had white bass fisherman dang near troll over me chasing schools. Reminded me of teenagers with their faces burried in cell phones. They were catching the heck out of them though.

I have a new lvs 34 but yet to get out on the water with it yet. Gonna chase crappie locally. But I’m mostly curious if Livescope can be an effective tool for the salt. My first thought was that it might be really cool in summer when it’s hot the fish are deep, to go bounce around the rigs looking for fish to catch. Anyone use it this way?

I have 2! I’d say it’s worth it. Just get a 12” to begin with. Or don’t look at a 12” screen ever!

I bought the 9 to be easier on my budget. 2 months in I bought a 12. If I could get a 16 I would. The screen size really makes a difference. 9 to 12 is a huge difference.

They have the old Transducer on sale vs the livescope plus. Seems the livescope plus with a smaller screen would be ok vs the old. It seems to really give you more separation and clarity. Im also a weekend fisher and do alot of fly fishing it probably wont get used for.

Caught my PB bass first day out with it out of an offshore brush pile that I never knew was there 9.96 lbs...it hooked me.
Best advice that I got before purchase from the guy that showed me how to use the unit was...."Go ahead and buy the 12" unit to start with, you will end up buying it in a few months anyway." Great advice I have learned |

Can some of you that have livescope or active target post some pics of the way you have mounted? I am wanting to pull the trigger on this for our boat, but don't want to mount transducer on trolling motor and want to see independent mounting options..

I'll try to get some pics tonight of my transducer mount. I made the pole out of 1.25" PVC and 1" PVC inside of it so I could turn it. Bought some Ram mounts and ubolts to mount it all to boat. There are several pics online, that's how I got the idea. There are also poles made specifically for this but they are pricey. Mine works surprisingly well, plus I can take it off anytime easily. |

It depends on the person but for me it was. Helps me tremendously and a lot of fun watching the fish. I doubt you'd find anyone anywhere say....."nah, it sucks... sending it back".

We have Active Target. It's pretty cool! Still working through the learning curve. And right now it's mounted on the trolling motor shaft. Definitely need to change that set-up. We almost exclusively fish for bass but have stumbled onto some dang good crappie spots!

Well I bought one and wow it’s fun. I so far don’t regret the smaller screen. I just zoom in to the pilons or brush piles and it’s all good. Definitely have learned a lot about crappie and how they act.

They need to start stocking them like they do bass. Seems that would be helpful. As we stock bass but no one keeps them. Seems unsustainable for the other fish.
